Product Overview

Blue Garden ketubah by Patty S. Leve measures 18" x 23". This ketubah is an artistic representation of the garden that is described in "Song of Songs." The arch that bends over the text of the ketubah symbolizes the chuppah that the bride and groom stand under at their wedding. The arches are also symbolic of the old city of Jerusalem- an integral part of the heritage of Jewish people for centuries. The text inside the arch is taken from "Song of Songs," and contains the well-known verse "Ani L'Dodi V'Dodi Li." Its translation is "My beloved has gone down to his garden, to the beds of spices, to feed in the gardens and to gather lilies. I am my beloved and my beloved is mine. I went down into the garden of nuts, to look at the green plants of the valley, to see whether the vine budded and the pomegranates were in flower." The border was created in the style of illuminated manuscripts, and contains Jewish symbolism. The pomegranate is a symbol of fertility, and grapes figure prominently in Jewish tradition. Selections from "Song of Songs," in both Hebrew and English, grace the outermost border. Price includes personalization.
