Unlocking The Secrets of Ketubah Shopping

4th Jun 2017

When the wedding is over, the glass is broken, the flowers are given away, the cake eaten and the dress cannot be cut down to wear again. What remains are the memories, pictures, and above all else, your beautiful ketubah.

The most important thing when beginning to shop for a ketubah is to stop…take a deep breath….and then dive right in.

Jewish Wedding Ketubah: Yussel's Place Judaica

The text will be determined by who is officiating….just ask for guidance. You’ll discover ketubahs come in a variety of texts—from traditional Aramaic to Interfaith to Gender Neutral…and everything in between. The English portion of the text varies from artist to artist.

There is no secret to narrowing your choices. First begin with the artwork…this is what will capture your eye. Each artist has their own unique style and color. Once you begin looking, you’ll find artists you like and those you don’t. Here at Yussel’s Place in Merrick, Long Island, we show you samples of the artists’ work and lay all your choices out. Then we will show you which texts go with which artist. Often, the text wording will make the decision for you.

Yussel’s Place takes the stress out of personalizing your ketubah. We will make sure the text is appropriate and the information complete. If you don’t know the Hebrew spellings, we will research in our library of name dictionaries. If your officiant wants to review a proof…no problem…just provide us with the email address and we will take care of the rest.
